Mk Modern!

I am finally getting the chance to dance again! I danced for 9 years of my life, 1 year ballet, 7 years tap and 7 years jazz. Once I got into middle school, I started cheerleading and that became my passion that continued throughout high school. Dances and halftimes were always my favorite part of cheering so once I moved to Davis, I tired to look for some type of dancing in my life. I tried out for a group a few times last year but ended up not making it. I was pretty crushed and was really bummed that I didn't have dance in my life. This summer, I found out that another group on campus was having tryouts in the fall and I knew this was my chance. I tried out for the group and out of about 70 people, around 25 of us got called back. We had a second set of auditions and I and about 14 others made the group! It is a hip-hop group on campus that stems from the Pilipino group on campus, Mga Kapatid. Our group name is Mk Modern. Even though we come from the Pilipino group, not everyone is Pilipino...but everyone is asian but me! This was definitely awkward at first but I LOVE everyone who I dance with and feel very comfortable and welcomed. I have made so many new friends through this group and have so much fun with them every time we are together! It's nice to have a distraction from school a few nights a week as well as our performances on the weekends! I hope you all get to come watch me sometime!

Me, Jeanette and Ericka...after practice, getting ready to kick it!

Halloween night kick it!
All the girls before our very first performance.

Paprazzi stopped us for a group photo. haha.

We got to share the stage in Sacramento with Jasmine Trias from American Idol....she's VERY unprofessional!

This book is quite entertaining...we had a few hours to kill and this helped mucho! haha!!

So I'm not the only weirdo....

I love my nephew, Mason James Peters! He is the cutest little 5 month old baby boy around and I still can't believe that he belongs to my sister and Steve! What a process our family went through to get him into our lives, but thank goodness we did because he brings happiness into all of our lives. He is getting so much personality and is so fun to play with and laugh with. Here are a few pictures of him....

Just a few days after he got out of the hospital..finally at home!

Three generations of love.

Mason came to watch me perform!

Mason and his Daddy.

Perfect little hot dog for his first Halloween!

Humboldt baby at heart!

I'm supposed to be getting ready for the football game right now but since it's foggy outside and I don't feel like showering, here I am!

So I'm all settled into my apartment now with Kasey and Katie. Side note: not only do their names sound exactly the same when you say them, they both have KD as their initials...gets frustrating at times! We finally have furniture in our living room and it looks super cute...Kasey's parents are coming up today and we're going to have them hang our mirror and a few more little things. It's nice to not have school yet because we can figure out all the last little things we need for our place, but then again I have no structure to my days. School starts on Thursday and I'm actually really excited....first day is always fun to see what your teacher is like and who's in your class. Even though I have 8am chemistry every day of the week, at least it will get me up and moving!

Our apartment complex is a good size, yet we've only met a few people here! There is never anyone out and about, which I can't complain about because it's not like we're hanging out outside but still, people have to talk to and from places! Kasey's friend from soccer has a friend who lives here so we went to their apartment to watch a movie the other night...but they have already graduated so that's not so fun. One of the maintenance guys talks to us a lot and he goes to school at Davis so we've met him and he was supposed to knock on our door last night to invite us to a party, but either he knocked when we were gone or he never came around..haha. We are going to make ourselves outgoing and just go meet people at our complex...we're 3 cute girls so hopefully that will help...right?!

Boy update: I think you guys know mostly what's been going on but I'll just give a recap anyways....
Efren: basically I want to be with him...but 1) we live 6 hours away 2) i don't want to bring it up and make things all serious 3) don't know how he feels about all of that. The two weeks in Humboldt were AMAZINGGGGG...and it all happened for a reason. We talk probably around every other day...but it's only little texts and short conversations but we still have our friendship and flirt. I sent him brownies so now that he has my address...maybe he'll send me something?! He and his roommate Mike said they were going to come visit before basketball season starts but I have a feeling that's not going to happen...but oh well.
Juan: what a 180 that's been...ever since Efren came into the picture, I've been so over Juan since he doesn't even compare to Efren. I think I was making myself settle into like Juan because I liked him in the beginning and now he was single...when really he has things about him that I really don't like. He is very cocky and that is so unattractive. Well he came over one night since I've been down here and it was SO boring and you could tell I wasn't having fun...and he decides to just come over and kiss me! Definitely was a badddd kiss and so I'm over him completely. I'm still attracted to him and we'll be friends but nothing more than that.

This year is a fresh new start so we'll see what comes my way....

My mom and I went to the movies last night and saw Liscense To Wed. It has Robin Williams in it as well as Mandy Moore. I knew it was going to be a little of a stupid funny movie, but when you go with my mom, she makes things hilarious! She is cracking up throughout the entire movie which in turn makes me laugh, therefore enjoying the movie even more. There were two old ladies and an old man behind us and those ladies were dying also! So in conclusion...it's a funny and cute movie so go see it!

I am really going to get back into this blogging world...I promise!

This past week was super duper amazing. My friend Alex and I drove down to Concord for a Fall Out Boy concert (punk rock). They had four opening bands...Cobra Starship (they were great, another rock band), Paul Wall (chubby, white rapper who was fun to dance to), The Academy Is...(one of my favorite bands) and +44 (rock band with two members from Blink 182).
We stayed at my sister Adrienne's house but didn't even see her once since we were in and out of there in less than 24 hours. We then headed up to Sacramento to have brunch with our friend Katie, who lives and works there. It was really great to see her since it had been around a month since I had last seen her. She looks amazing and is still hilarious like always!
Our next stop was Trinity Lake with Alex's family. Let me just say I love the Iorg family! It was really great to be spending some time in the sunshine, since Humboldt county is not a place for the sun. Alex's parents, her sister Kelly and her husband as well as 3 kids were there with us as well. The little boys are hilarious and always kept me laughing..while also preparing me for when Adrienne's baby comes!

All in all...it was a really great road trip with Alex...and I am a lot more comfortable driving in cities and on the bay area freeways!

Wow....it's been FOREVER since I've written one of these...and I'm sorry for that girls!! So I know that I've been beyond busy with school and haven't really had time for my friends...and I really apologize for that! All that studying paid off though...set the curve for my chemistry test...102 out of 106!! Sooooo proud of myself for that...and tonight was my bio test which I studied for ALL weekend and the test went alright but I guess I'll just have to wait for the results...

The news with Juan.....we're just being friends for now!! We talked for 4 hours on Saturday night and everything came out...I made him tell me the entire story of him and his girlfriend....ugh my stomach hurts like heck right now so i'll just tell you the story on the phone...

: )
