Adee

This is going to my daughter's middle name, after my sister Adrienne. It's not her birthday and mother's day already passed, but my sister is my best friend and I just feel like she deserves a post! I am 9 years younger than Adrienne but it feels like only 1 or 2. Ever since she moved to the bay area, we have become so much closer and thankfully now I live in Davis which is only about an hour and a half away! We can talk on the phone for hours talking about nothing or gossiping about our crazy family. Back when we were younger, we used to fight about anything and everything and I always felt so thankful that she wasn't my mom because she sure can punch hard! Now that she is a mother my view has changed and she is 2nd to my mom in amazing mothers. I am so thankful to be blessed with a sister who is more like my twin. We burp way more than most guys, we cry from laughing over nothing and LOVE to eat!!

Weekend in the Bay!

I was supposed to be better at blogging this summer but after my week in the bay, I got food poisoning which halted my posting! After working at a graduation luncheon my work put on, I drove to the Bay Area to be with my family! Adrienne had just had her tonsils removed so we were all helping with Mason and taking care of her. Her surgery went great and now she's on the mend! My parents were down for a few days and it was really good to see them. Even though I was finally with my family, it made me miss them even more. I haven't been to Humboldt since Christmas and I just miss little things about being around my family. Good thing my brother and sister are only an hour away!

Mason is the cutest kid ever! He had so much personality this trip and so far, 10 months has been the funnest age. He is scooting all over the place and actually took a few crawls! He saws mama and dada and loves to laugh. Steve taught him to put his arms in the air after we ask "how big is Mason?" He caught on quickly and now it's one of his favorite things to do! I love spending time with him and I can't wait till his birthday party in August!




About 10 of my friends who I dance with decided to meet up in San Francisco for the day and just shop around. I love San Francisco and it was nice to see the other parts rather than just where BART takes you. I rode all the way to Daly City (got on at the first stop and got off at the last stop!) and my friend Patrice picked me up. We ate lunch, ice cream and then shopped on Haight Street. I bought a new pair of shoes, originally for $75 and got them for $40! Thanks to my mom who always taught me to shop on sale!

I was 10 years old and was enjoying the summertime. I spent my summer at Redwood Day Camp and loved every minute of it. My closest friends were Katie and Chanel.

I was 15 years old and just finished my freshman year of high school. I was taking driving lessons and dating Ben. My favorite thing to do was go to Crab's baseball games with Hillary.


1 yr ago....

I was 19 years old and had just finished my first year at UC Davis. I was loving life! I spent the summer back at home and worked as a counselor at Redwood Camp. My first nephew was born and Mason was my new best friend!


Yesterday...

Was so dang hot!! I went on a walk at 9am with my sister, Steve and Mason and it was already in the 80s! Adrienne and I went to Kohl's to do a little shopping and I had never been there before, good deals! We rushed home to get ready for the Birthday Party for our cousin's son, Tyler. The party was...interesting. Afterwards we relaxed and then my brother and his wife, Garrett and Amy, came over and we ate rootbeer floats and watched Dan In Real Life.

I've discovered that I really don't like running..but I run at the gym on the treadmill, on the indoor track and on this greenbelt near my apartment.

Conflicts

Why is it that I do not mind yelling at people at fighting but I hate talking things out? I feel so uncomfortable and awkward and I feel that I cannot defend myself and end up backing away. I have no problem making my points when it becomes escalated and smart aleck but when it is just calm confrontation, I freak out. I feel that I cannot get my points across because I care too much about not arguing that I just resolve things and say everything is alright when actually I hate the situation.

My roommate Kasey and I were best of friends in the beginning of this year. We felt like each other's second halves. During this spring quarter, I have felt a shift in our friendship. She does not talk to me or confide in me very much anymore. We only small talk and I feel that I am the only one who genuinely wants to talk. I hear little stories from Katie, about Kasey, that I have not even heard from Kasey! I just really really hate conflict and I hate awkwardness! I have been meaning to talk with her about it but once again, I get scared and would rather just let things boil over. But then dont'. She texted me this morning and the conversation was weird cause it was over texting and now I don't want to go home!! : (

MK Bash!!

Friday night was the end of the year party for MK. MK Modern is section of the Pilipino social club called MK. It was a formal so it was super fun to get all dressed up for once! It was a catered dinner in Sac with lots of dancing afterwards! I got ready with two of my friends from Modern and then we headed to Sac. We get there fashionably late but I guess we weren't on Pilipino Time (they are late to everything!) so we just drove around and wasted time. When we finally ate, the food was DELICIOUS!!! I hadn't had food that good since a wedding and it's been almost a year since Meghan's wedding!

MK Bash was our last performance of the year. It was super sad to realize that I won't be performing anymore this year but that does not mean I won't stop dancing or hanging out with the people from Modern. We have become like a family and I am super sad to see the seniors go in a few weeks. Even though dancing takes a lot of time and commitment, I wouldn't stop it for the world!!!

After dinner there were a few performances besides us and then we danced the night away!! The DJ sucked but it was still tons of fun!! Afterwards we kicked it at my friend Ferdilyn's till 5am!! We laughed the entire night and it was very strange to be going to bed when the sun was coming up. Memorial Day Weekend!

Last weekend was one of the most fun and well deserved weekends I have had in a really long time!! My friend Alex that I grew up with came to stay with me for the weekend. My other friend Jeanette from Davis invited us to Santa Cruz with her and her sister for a day and we said of course!!! We stayed in a hotel right next to the boardwalk and spent the entire Saturday on the boardwalk. The weather was a bit cold but we had SOOOOOO much fun. We rode just about every ride and ate way too much food...but it was so worth it! It was so nice to just get away from Davis and school life for a second and just play around. On the way home we surprised my sister and stopped by to have dinner with them. It was so great to see my family and have a free meal!

Sunday Alex and I went to church, got me a new phone, and just relaaaaxed! We were so tired from Santa Cruz so we just watched t.v. and lounged around. At night, we made "chicken" parmesan and watched She's All That. We were craving sweets like always so we made some Rice Krispie treats and ate it right out of the pot!! Thanks so much for coming Alex!!! : )

Insomniac

I am very sick of getting no sleep! I only get about five hours of sleep each night and my eyes are a bit sick of it. School keeps me so busy along with work and dance, I mean I would not have it any other way but it just gets draining at times. I'm a night owl so I stay up till around 2 at night sometimes to study, especially for midterms. I just want to be able to sleep in and not have to wake up for anything. You get no sleep in college, no sleep when you have kids, sleep for short amounts when you are old. When do I get to sleep!?!?

Worst Day

Today was definitely not a fun one. Don't really feel like telling all the bad things that happened today but lets just say you should be thankful you didn't have my day! Where is all my karma?!?!

Last Saturday I chopped 12 inches off of my hair! My hair was getting pretty long and quite heavy, especially when I was dancing. Instead of my hair moving I was having to move my hair when I danced...not fun! Also, when it was hot here for a few days and I had to be outside, my hair was such a pain! Staying here this summer and me with long hair just wasn't going to be a good combo. I have been growing my hair out to donate again, I donated it during high school, and decided to just do it now! It is SO much lighter and haven't quite figured out exactly how I like to style it just yet but I still love it!

After cutting my hair I drove to Santa Rosa for 24 hours. One of my best friends from high school is staying there for a few months with her sister's family so I decided to go visit since Santa Rosa is so much closer than Utah! Alex was watching her sister's 3 kids the entire week while her sister and husband went on vacation and I came to help on Saturday. Let me just say how much respect I have for single or stay at home parents! It was such hard work but super duper fun....we went to the park and to the grocery store and had ice cream. I missed Alex a lot so just being able to finally talk with her and not focus on school was amazing!!!

This weekend I have 5 performances and then next week I have a midterm and paper due....fun right?!?!

Back to School!

The twins came down to stay with me for a few days and watch me perform at the Kings vs. Warriors game! It was so much to have them around and I'm so thankful that we are finally close with each other, after how many years?! Oh, and we decided that we would make the best roommates but we would all be fat, because we went to this frozen yogurt place in town every single day they were here!

Spring break was really nice to get away from all the studying and stress that school has with it. I first headed over to the bay area to spend time with my family and then headed down to Los Angeles to stay with my friend Jackie and her family. We went to Disneyland one day and boy were we spoiled! A girl we went with used to work there so we got fast passes to almost every ride and only had to wait in 3 lines! Disneyland is one of my favorite places ever so I always enjoy going and I haven't been in 4 years!

I'm now back in Davis and started my spring quarter classes. I thought this was going to be an easier quarter but when is a science degree ever easy?! I am taking Roman History with a teacher that I've heard great remarks about (but he has a STRONG accent!), Exercise Psychology (I'm minoring in Exercise Biology), a management/business class and genetics. I was lost in Genetics after the first day of lecture so I already know where my nose is going to be buried! Also, I'm back to dancing after a week off and my body is SORE!!!! We have a performance this friday, in a few weeks and have many many more to come this quarter.....what can I say, we are wanted by all! : )
